Membership

The METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL is an international collaboration and interaction platform for specialists and students working on metamaterials. The organisation helps joining forces with your colleagues, offers support and common voice for your interests in international and national organisations. The members of this learned society meet for research review and planning workshops and interact globally at the annual Metamaterial Congress. Student members have even more opportunities for studying and networking at the international doctoral schools organized by the EUPROMETA – European Doctoral Programmes on Metamaterials.

To get involved with the METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL you may choose from the following two types of membership (available for the solar year):

A. Institutional Membership (OPTIONAL - annual fee: 800 Euro) or

B. Personal Membership:

    Regular Member (annual fee: 90 Euro)

    Senior Member (annual fee: 60 Euro)

    Student Member (annual fee: 50 Euro)

Both options will entitle you to the following benefits:

  1. discount for Metamaterials Congress registration fee;
  2. discount for EUPROMETA schools registration fee;
  3. free Congress Proceedings and school materials for all the years since 2007;
  4. news publishing on the website and the newsletters;
  5. invitation to internal workshops focused on research overviews and collaboration planning;
  6. newsletter containing an overview of the Association activities, research highlights, press news, etc.

Further benefits for Institutional Members:

  1. discounts cover unlimited number of persons from your institution or laboratory;
  2. General Assembly voting rights (institutional membership is by application and needs an approval by the General Assembly);
  3. your institutional representative can be nominated and elected President or Secretary General of the Associiation;
  4. filtered and explained information on EU and other funding opportunities can be delivered;
  5. your local educational and training events can get METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL accreditation.

If you belong to an Institutional Member, you are entitled for the discounted registration rate only if your institution has opted to pay the institutional annual fee. If this is not the case, you can still get the discounted rates by paying your personal membership fee.

Mission and scope

The main tasks of the METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL are:

  • integrate, manage, coordinate, and monitor research projects in the field of Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials;
  • spread excellence in this field, in particular, by organizing scientific conferences and creating specialized journals in this field;
  • create and manage research programmes in this field;
  • activate and manage training programmes (including PhD and training programmes for students and industrial partners);
  • provide information on Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials;
  • transfer new technology in this field to the Industry;
  • offer advice and services related to Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials to industries, producers, distributors, potential users, service suppliers and to the like in Europe and worldwide. 

Legal structure

The METAMORPHOSE VI AISBL is a non-for-profit International Association established in 2007 in Belgium. The Association is regulated by the Constitution (original French version and sworn translation in English) and the Internal Regulations.

The governing bodies of the Association are the General Assembly, the Board of Directors and the President.
