- Organization of annual Congress on Metamaterials to unite and consolidate the research on metamaterials in Europe and other countries.
- Organization and development of the European Doctoral Program on Metamaterials (EUPROMETA) including regular PhD schools events distributed across Europe.
- Editorial support for the Journal "Metamaterials"
- Consultations and education for the industry and other external institutions on metamaterials research achievements and perspectives.
- Support of mobility for the European researchers via mobility grant and fund consolidation.
- Information support and hosting of the web resources on metamaterials www.metamorphose-vi.org. It includes news, databases on literature and facilities, online courses, researcher and institution profiles, webpages for the current events organized by the VI, communication tools, storage for the VI research materials, advertising etc.
- Organization of the constant dialog and discussion among researchers and industry via setup of dedicated and regular workshops, meetings and courses.
- Development of the Metamaterials Research Road Map to bring efficiency in European efforts in metamaterials research (Strategic developments).
- Formation of distributed research teams to pursue the targets of current importance including current and future research calls by the funding bodies, future grant hunting and preparations of future research proposals.
- Lobbing and consultations to the funding bodies at the national and European levels.
- Organization and management of the access to the partner facilities on measurement, characterization, computation and fabrication.
